Victory & Peace 75
AWARD and SSAFA - the Armed Forces Charity have commissioned the exclusive Victory & Peace 75 Badge to help raise funds for the charity’s important work. This thoughtfully designed badge depicts the colours of the Services and SSAFA and features the dove of peace rising in flight from the ‘V’ for victory carrying in its beak a palm branch which is the symbol of peace.
As we are commemorating the 75th anniversary of the end of the Second World War, we are delighted to confirm AWARD’s partnership with SSAFA, the Armed Forces Charity.
Lieutenant-General Sir Andrew Gregory, KBE, CB Chief Executive of SSAFA
"Established in 1885, SSAFA is the oldest tri-service military charity, they were there then and they are here now. We are all very aware that this could be the last major Second World War anniversary which includes those who lived through the conflict. VE Day, the 8th May 1945, and VJ Day, the 15th August 1945, were the moments millions of families in Europe and around the world were able to breathe a sigh of relief as peace broke out. Let us mark these historic, happy events, commemorating and respecting the memory of those who served in that conflict and particularly remembering those who gave their lives in order to give us the many freedoms we enjoy today. We hope you will support SSAFA by purchasing the 75th Anniversary items featured in these pages. Any funds raised will enable SSAFA to continue its vital work."
