UN Mali (MINUSMA) Full Size Medal
The United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali (MINUSMA) was established on the 25 April 2013 to support political processes in that country. The Mission was to focus on ensuring security, stabilization and protection of civilians; supporting national political dialogue and reconciliation; and assisting the reestablishment of State authority, the rebuilding of the security sector, and the promotion and protection of human rights in that country. This mission can to end in December 2023.
Each United Nations medal is identical in design, with a unique ribbon to identify the specific mission. The MINUSMA ribbon is UN blue on the edges, with a wide central band royal blue flanked on the left with thin stripes of green, gold, and red, representing Mali’s national colours, and on the right with a stripe of sand colour.
Qualifying time for the medal is 90 days of service in the Mission. Subsequent tours of the same regions would be denoted with a numeral attached to the ribbon.
United Nations medals are not engraved.
All official medals are sent loose on the ribbon unless medal mounting is also purchased on the same order.
