2012 Queens Diamond Jubilee Full Size Medal
The 2012 Queens Diamond Jubilee medal was made to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the reign of Elizabeth II. 450,000 Diamond Jubilee Medals were awarded only to members of the Armed Forces, HM Prison Service, and emergency services personnel (including Police Community Support Officers) who had completed five full years of service on 6 February 2012. Holders of the Victoria Cross and George Cross and members of the Royal Household were also eligible.
The obverse is the profile of Elizabeth II by Ian Rank-Broadley, and the reverse is the crowned royal cypher EIIR, on a faceted diamond design with the dates 1952 - 2012 below. The ribbon is dark red with 2 narrow white stripes in the centre and narrow blue stipes on the edge.
To be eligible to wear this medal you must have been serving in 2012 and in service 5 years prior. The set can be purchased for collection purposes only if you are not eligible, but should not be worn.
This superb replica full-size medal is die-struck to the same exacting standards as the original and is produced from the original dies which have the word copy discreetly added on the reverse in line with MoD licensing. The full-size medal can be engraved on the edge with your service details and is supplied with 6 inches of loose ribbon.
All official medals are sent loose on the ribbon unless medal mounting is also purchased on the same order.
