2002 Queens Golden Jubilee Full Size Medal
The 2002 Queens Golden Jubilee medal was made to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the reign of Elizabeth II, and awarded to the Armed Forces regular, reserve, and cadet branches who had been in continuous service for five years on 6th Feb 2002. Over 94,000 members of the Army received the medal, as did 32,000 in the Royal Navy and Royal Marines, and almost 39,000 in the Royal Air Force.
The obverse of the medal has the profile of Queen Elizabeth II wearing a crown, and the reverse has the Royal Coat of Arms flanked by the dates 1953 and 2002. The ribbon is royal blue with a central stipe of white with a red line through it, and thin red lines on the edges.
To be eligible to wear this medal you must have been serving in 2002 and in service 5 years prior. The set can be purchased for collection purposes only if you are not eligible, but should not be worn.
This is a superb replica full-size medal, die-struck to the same exacting standards as the original and is produced from the original dies which have the word copy discreetly added on the reverse in line with MoD licensing. The full-size medal can be engraved on the edge with your service details and is supplied with 6 inches of loose ribbon.
All official medals are sent loose on the ribbon unless medal mounting is also purchased on the same order.
