NATO - Numeral 6

This bronze numeral represents a sixth qualifying tour on a NATO operation, therefore only worn on NATO medals.

Numerals are made in one size but can be worn on full size and miniature NATO medals as well as on NATO ribbon bars.

The numerals are supplied with 2 blunt prongs on the back to be pushed through the medal ribbon and then opened at the back to secure the numeral in place. The numeral should be worn in the centre of the ribbon, just above the bar. When wearing the numeral on a ribbon bar it may be necessary to clip the prongs in order to stitch the numeral in place instead.

This is the first style of numeral issued by NATO. Between 2003 and 2011, NATO stopped the practice of issuing tour numerals. It was re-introduced in 2011 with a new design. This numeral is the original arabic bronze numeral design.
