Multinational Force and Observers Sinai (MFO) Miniature Medal
This is an international military decoration that was established by the Director General of the Multinational Force and Observers (MFO) on the 24 March 1982. The MFO were established to monitor a neutral ceasefire zone between Egypt and Israel, as the result of the Yom Kippur War of 1973.
UK personnel qualify if they have served 170 days continuous, or aggregated, service with the MFO in Sinai since 3rd August 1981 until a future date to be decided. This medal has now been given permission to wear for UK citizens. It has been given a position not as a campaign medal like UN or NATO but is classed as a foreign medal and is worn in the appropriate position for such awards in the order of wear.
This medal is sent loose on the ribbon unless medal mounting is also purchased on the same order.
