Lucknow Clasp

Awarded for service during the final operations under Sir Colin Campbell that resulted in the recapture of Lucknow in March 1858. This clasp is distinct from "Defence of Lucknow" (for those who held the Residency under siege) and "Relief of Lucknow" (for Havelock and Outram's relief force and Campbell's earlier relief in November 1857) — the "Lucknow" clasp marks the decisive final assault that broke rebel resistance in the city and effectively ended the mutiny in Oudh.
