2023 King Charles III Coronation Miniature Medal (Loose ribbon)
The full-size medal will be awarded to approximately 500,000 people including to everyone involved with the coronation ceremony on 6th May, serving members of the Armed Forces, Frontline Emergency and Prison Services personnel that have completed five full calendar years of service. Members of the Royal Household and recipients of the George Cross and Victoria Cross.
The official King Charles III Coronation Medal revealed by the government on 5th May 2023 features a double portrait of Their Majesties on the obverse and a version of the Royal Cypher, a laurel wreath and the date of the Coronation on the reverse. The ribbon is made up of red, blue and white vertical stripes - the colours of the Union Flag. The double portrait of The King and Queen on the obverse of the newly unveiled Coronation Medal was designed by Martin Jennings who also designed the official effigy of The King for the new coins issued by the Royal Mint.
