Iraq Reconstruction Service Full Size Medal
The Reconstruction of Iraq medal was awarded to civilians and members of the Armed Forces who saw service in Iraq but did not qualify for the Iraq medal. The medal was awarded from 2007 to 2013.
The obverse of this medal has the profile of Queen Elizabeth II and the reverse shows a relief carving of a tablet from Mesopotamia housed in the British Museum; it depeicts 2 rivers and between them in cuneiform is written 'land bringing forth life', a band across the bottom of the reverse of the medal states IRAQ in capitals. The ribbon is a standard width of 32mm and is sand or buff coloured, with a central band of green, and 2 narrow stripes to either side of blue.
To qualify for the medal personnel must have completed 40 days continous service since March 19th 2003, or 40 days services accumulated over 1 year, for a minimum of 48 hours per visit.
Our museum quality replica full-size medals are made to the same exacting standards as the original and in line with MoD licensing. The full-size medal can be engraved on the edge with the recipient's service number, rank, name & initials and regiment.
All official medals are sent loose on 6 inches of their ribbon, unless medal mounting is also purchased on the same order.
