Iraq Op Telic (No Clasp) Full Size Medal
The Full-Size Iraq Operation Telic Medal was awarded to all military and civilian personnel involved in Operation TELIC in Kuwait and Iraq from January 2003 until May 2011. British troops took part in a coalition invasion to liberate Iraq by overthrowing the regime of Saddam Hussein and securing key infastructure within the country.
The obverse of this medal has the crowned profile of Queen Elizabeth II, and on the reverse is an image of Lamassu, an ancient Assyrian statue, over the word IRAQ. The ribbon is a sand or buff colour, with 3 narrow central stripes of black, white and red, representing the national flag of Iraq. The ribbon is a standard width of 32mm wide.
Qualifying time for the medal is 30 days service in specific areas of the Middle East between specified dates. Members of the embedded media (journalists attached to military units) contractors, foreign and Commonwealth attached forces and reservists were also eligible for the medal.
Our museum quality replica full-size medals are made to the same exacting standards as the original, with the word COPY added to the back of the medal and in line with MoD licensing (COPY is added top and centre, just below the the bar attachment). The full-size medal can be engraved on the edge with the recipient's service number, rank, name & initials and regiment.
All official medals are sent loose on the ribbon unless medal mounting is also purchased on the same order.
