GSM 62+ Medal Presentation Set
The General Service Medal 1962 & Onwards Medal was awarded to Army, Royal Navy and RAF personnel for campaigns and operations that fell short of full-scale war.
The General Service Medal (GSM) was first introduced in 1918 as an Army and RAF equivalent to the Naval General Service Medal (NGSM). The medal is used in place of a specific campaign medal, with clasps added to the medal to denote the campaign.
In 1962 a modified General Service Medal was introduced which replaced the 1918 GSM and the NGSM.
Post 1962 Clasps issued with the medal include Northern Ireland ,Borneo, Radfan, South Arabia, Malay Peninsula, South Vietnam, Dhofar, Lebanon, Mine Clearance, Gulf, Kuwait, Northern Iraq and Southern Turkey.

To be eligible to wear this medal you must have been awarded the Medal by the MoD. The set can be purchased for collection purposes. Those who were NOT awarded the GSM medal should NOT wear this medal. (Unless you are entitled to do so as ‘next of Kin)
