GSM 2008 Medal Presentation Set

The General Service Medal 2008 (GSM 08) was introduced in 2015 for award to Royal Navy, Royal Marines, Army, and RAF personnel to recognise specified operations since January 2008, not qualifying for another campaign medal. Unlike its predecessor, the General Service Medal (1962), operations will be denoted by clasps indicating the geographic area of operations, rather than a specific operation

Further operations deemed sufficient to warrant the award of the medal will see the addition of more clasps. Service in subsequent qualifying operations is reflected by additional clasps added to the existing GSM medal.

The Medal Presentation Set features a swing mounted and engraved full-size medal, a mounted miniature medal and matching Ribbon Bar elegantly displayed in an attractive black case personalised with your service details on a brass plaque.

To be eligible to wear this medal you must have been awarded the Medal by the MoD. The set can be purchased for collection purposes. Those who were NOT awarded the GSM medal should NOT wear this medal. (Unless you are entitled to do so as ‘next of Kin)
