Churchill Tommy Gun T-shirt Grey Marl
100% Cotton T-Shirt – Churchill with a Tommy Gun
Printed with the famous photograph of Winston Churchill holding a Thompson submachine gun, popularly known as the ‘Tommy Gun’.
This photograph was taken during Churchill’s visit to the North East of England. While inspecting coastal defences near Hartlepool, he was given a demonstration of the Thompson’s mechanism.
The image became a powerful symbol, used by both German and British press for propaganda. The Nazis exploited its gangster associations from Prohibition-era America to vilify Churchill, while the British embraced it as a symbol of strength and resolve in their statesman.
