George Medal GVIR Full Size Loose

The George Medal was awarded for acts of gallantry that were not deemed to metit the award of the George Cross. Primarily intended for civilians it has been awarded in roughly equal numbers to military service personnel, the medal was Instituted in 1940 at the same time as the George Cross itself.
