The Ebola Medal was established in 2015 to recognise service in West Africa during the Ebola epidemic, it was awarded to both military and civilian personnel who volunteered to combat the outbreak of Ebola in Sierra Leone, Liberia and Guinea.
The obverse of this medal has the profile of Queen Elizabeth II, and the reverse has 'FOR SERVICE WEST AFRICA EBOLA EPIDEMIC' around the edge. In the centre is the eternal flame of hope, surrounded by abstract curvy lines representing the Ebola virus. The ribbon is bright green, with a light blue central strip with a yellow line through the centre. The light blue is bordered on each side with white. In the middle of each section of green there is a stripe of red. The ribbon is a standard width of 32mm wide.
