SR-71 Blackbird Diecast Model

The SR-71 originated in the USA in 1959. Built with titanium as a strategic reconnaissance aircraft, it was put into service in 1966. Its speed of Mach 3 at 80,000 feet is comparable to a 21st-century aircraft. On 27 July 1976, the SR-71 set the fastest record of Mach 3.2. The 'Blackbird' was retired in the early 1990s with a glorious record of 'no loss'. In 1994, at least three 'Blackbirds' resumed service due to the shortfall in the USAF reconnaissance capability. This model captures the sleek design and impressive history of the SR-71. Made as a diecast jet, it is a perfect addition for collectors and aviation enthusiasts. Not suitable for children under 36 months
