    We are looking forward to our local Armed Forces Day event at Shrewsbury Sports Village where there will be a variety of sports activities for the whole family including a climbing wall, football, roller disco, netball, basketball, cycling, tennis plus more. Younger children can enjoy face painting, soft play, art play and tots sports activities. Parking at the Sports Village is free of charge. All the activities and access to the facility is free of charge.

    Open 10am, Sunday 24th June 2018 with Service of Remembrance at 2pm

    National Service Day at the National Memorial Arboretum is a wonderful opportunity to meet comrades and reminisce. The Service of Remembrance includes a parade of veterans and standards and Laying of the Wreaths with an Address by Rear Admiral J Lippiett. The Band is the Burton on Trent Salvation Army Band with Musical Director Peter Dukes. This special service offers a poignant moment to pause and reflect.

    National Service Day is a day in the British military calendar for ex-service men and women, from all branches of the Armed Forces, to come together and share their experiences. The day is open to all and is always a warm, welcoming atmosphere.

    National Service Day is held annually at the National Memorial Arboretum, and is one of the key occasions in our calendar we look forward to each year. It is always a pleasure to work with Gerald Rose, Chairman of the National Service Foundation. Ex-servicemen and women from all branches come together with fellow comrades to remember. This year, as we commemorate the centenary of the end of World War I, the National Memorial Arboretum is proud to host the sixteenth annual National Service Memorial & Reunion with a special Service of Remembrance.

    AWARD Productions Ltd commissioned and sponsored the National Service Memorial and it is always a proud and personal moment when the service concludes with a march past by veterans. Please do visit our AWARD Medals stand where you will receive a warm welcome.
