Rest in peace Sir Captain Tom, your duty is now done.
The clouds will part once more and we will see the sun.
Our spirits you have lifted and led us from the dark,
A hero twice and a life well lived, you certainly left your mark.
At ninety nine years of age you were our beacon of light,
And when our hearts were aching, you were such a welcome sight.
You will never be forgotten, though we are sad today,
God bless you Captain Tom - tomorrow will be a good day.
