1935 Silver Jubilee (GV) Miniature Medal
The 1935 Silver Jubilee medal was made to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the reign of George V on 6th May 1935. Around 85,000 medals were issued with the recipients chosen at the discretion of the local government. The main recipients were members of the Armed Forces, Police, Royal Household and Government Officials.
The obverse of the medal features overlapping profiles of King George V and Queen Mary in crowns and robes of state. The reverse of the medal has a crowned GRI monogram flanked by the dates of accession and the jubilee. The ribbon has a broad red centre, with 2 dark blue and 1 white stripe at each edge of the ribbon.
AWARD miniature medals complement the full-size official medals and are normally worn for formal dinner dress occasions.
All official medals are sent loose on the ribbon unless medal mounting is also purchased on the same order.
